Paolo Vitti, Architect and historian, he has been studying and working on Cultural Heritage Restoration since 1984, and particularly on archaeological monuments in Italy, Greece, Turkey and on medieval monuments in Italy and Cyprus. He is interested in both the theoretical and professional aspects of the architectural and archaeological restoration. His office in Rome is specialised in the Restoration of Cultural Heritage and Archaeological sites. He has been awarded the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Award 2015 for the Restoration of the Armenian Church and Monastery in Nicosia-Cyprus.

He teaches History of Ancient Architecture at the University of Roma3, Department of Architecture. He is adjunct instructor for Ancient Architecture and Archaeology course in the Italian Studies in Tuscany of the University of Rochester (NY) since 2011. In 2017 he has held a Course on Restoration for architects and archaeologist of the Ministry of Culture of Marocco.

He is a researcher for the Italian School of Archaeology in Athens and author of essays on restoration, museology, history of architecture, archaeology and ancient construction. His research on Roman Vaulted construction in the Peloponnese has been awarded the "GRAND PRIX for Research 2014" of European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage/Europa Nostra Award 2014 and the 17th «L’ERMA» di BRETSCHNEIDER international award for archaeology.

He has carried out researches in many archaeological sites in Italy (Rome, Pompei, Pæstum, Buccino, Fratte, Suessula, Pontecagnano, Sybaris and Ancona), Greece (Crete, Lemnos, Acaia and Messenia), Turkey (Istambul, Iassos) and Cyprus (Armenian Church, Archaeological site of the Old Municipality in Nicosia). His studies span from Antiquity to the 1700s AD. His research on the Mausoleum of Hadrian-Castel Sant'Angelo is the topic of invited lectures in Rome, Oxford, London, Rochester-NY, Austin-Texas and in Greece.

He has designed many restoration works for the Italian Ministry of Culture (Domus Tiberiana; the Colosseum; Castel Sant’Angelo; Roman Amphitheater in Ancona; Paestum; Sibari; Castiglione di Paludi; Torre del Mordillo; Blanda-Tortora; Suessula; Fratte; Pietrapaola; Laos-Marcellina), UNOPS (Bedestan- St. Nicholas Church in Nicosia-Cyprus), UNDP (Armenian Church and Monastery in Nicosia-Cyprus; Assessment of 34 sites in Cyprus; Kyrenia ship-wreck hall) and Nicosia Municipality (Archaeological site of Old City Hall).

In the field of museum design he has designed the exhibitions "Eureka. Il genio degli antichi", "Archimede e il genio antico" and “Apoteosi. Da uomini a Dei. Il Mausoleo di Adriano”. He has also designed the display of two acrolits in the Museum of Palestrina, Roma.

He is Council and Scientific Council member of Europa Nostra.
