Manolis Korres, Athens 1948. Dr. Architect-Eng, Dr. Ph. h.c. FU Berlin, Emeritus Professor NTU Athens, Member of the Academy of Athens.
Also, President of the Committee for the Restoration of the Acropolis Monuments and of the Central Archaeological Council of Greece.
Work and research: Acropolis Restoration Project 1975, 1977-1980, 1982-1999. Architectural-archaeological research on Amorgos (1974-77); Naxos (1976-2000); Metropolis, Thessaly (2002-2005); Amyclae, Sparta (2006-); Pythion, Thrace (1974-2008).
Other fields or subjects of Study: Ionic capitals in Greece; Stoa of Eumenes, Monument of Philopappos, bridges of the Roman aqueduct, Temple of Olympios Zeus in Athens and Temple of Athena Pallenis, vernacular architecture in Mani, Etruscan Tombs in Norchia, the Theoderich Monument in Ravenna and many other.
Scholarships: Gr. Ministry of Education, DAAD, Deutsches Archaeologisches Institut, Princeton University and Fulbright (1995).
Other Activities: exhibition of architectural models and drawings in 14 different occasions.
Honours: Bronze Medal, Academy of Athens (1989), Silver Medal, Académie d' Architecture, Paris (1995), Taxiarches of Phoenix of the Greek State, Premium Alexander von Humboldt (2003), Gold Medal of the National Academy in Rome (Premio Internationale Feltrinelli, 2013). Publications: 12 books and 120 articles.
